Job Description
A solid Columbia law firm is seeking a desktop support technician.
DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position supports end users using the Windows operating system.
Troubleshoots and resolves internal information technology issues, business applications and technical components, including operating systems, computer networks, telecommunications, connection to the Internet, and PC/server maintenance.
Secondary responsibilities include maintaining and supporting remote servers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Support in a Windows XP/7, Microsoft Office xxxx, Outlook xxxx, Adobe Acrobat.
•Candidate will be responsible for supporting 100+ internal users at several remote sites.
•Utilizing a Helpdesk ticketing system to log Trouble Tickets and IT Service requests.
•Able to work after hours when needed.
•Installation and configuration of desktop PC, laptops, printers, applications, components, peripherals, and IP phones .
•Communicating effectively (in person, via email, and over the phone) with local users or remote applications to remote into users not at corporate office.
•Diagnosing and resolving hardware, applications and operating system issues.
MUST HAVE PROVEN EXPERIENCE:
•Utilizing Microsoft Active Directory
•Familiarity with Cisco VOIP phone system
•Familiarity with Microsoft Exchange
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
•Candidates must have had prior telephone support experience along with hands-on PC-build and troubleshooting experience
•MCSE certification
•Extensive experience in Office Suite; Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam
•Wireless networking skills
•Networking experience such as connections to network switched, checking on IP, Configuration on NIC card and other LAN type experience
•Candidates must be proficient working in a Windows 7
•Strong problem-solving and logical analysis skills, as well as strong technical background
•Other required skills include VPN support, network support, and familiarly with a Helpdesk Management Application, such as, TrackIt!, Remedy, or Altiris Helpdesk
