Job Description:
Responsible for providing technical support in the care and preparation of patients undergoing surgical procedures. Works under the direct supervision of the nurse and the surgeon. Functions as a member of the surgical team in the operating room.

Requirements:
Education: Diploma Surgical Technology, Certificate of Surgical Tech Training by the Military, or LPN with Experience as a Surgical Technologist
Experience: Preferred
Number and Type of Employees Supervised: None
Licensure, Registry or Certification Required: Those who graduated after January 1, xxxx OR cannot provide evidence of employment as a Surgical Technologist in South Carolina prior to January 1, xxxx must complete Surgical Technologist certification within three months of hire date in accordance with South Carolina legislation AND must also annually complete 15 hours of continuing education to remain qualified for employment as a Surgical Technologist.
Special Training: Must possess knowledge and skills necessary to provide technical assistance with surgical procedures; other training as required by department.
