Java Developer (Note: Potential for this position to be Contract-to-Perm) EDUCATION / EQUIVALENCY: - Bachelor Degree - If candidate does not have a 4-year degree, the candidate must have either 4 years combined education & work experience OR extra 4 years of related work experience totaling 7 years of related work experience. CANDIDATE TECHNICAL BACKGROUND: - Java Application Developer who has experience developing and maintaining web systems with experience in: *Java EE 1.5 (Required) *JSP (Required) *JSTL (Required) *Spring Framework 2.5 (Preferred) *Hibernate ORM experience (Preferred) - Experience with IBM Rational Developer 7.0 and Oracle SQL Developer . (Highly Desired) ADDITIONAL SKILLS UTILIZED / DESIRED FOR ROLE: - Java Security - Java SE 6 - XML-RPC - Web services - IBM Web Sphere MQ 7.0 - IBM xxxx Telnet Programming - CICS - Experience with Software Performance Tools DAILY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: - Develop functional design and technical specifications, concept diagrams, and work flow diagrams, in coordination with analysts, development, and/or applicable administrative areas, including user interfaces for web applications, maintenance, monitoring, and software builds and releases. - Develop coding to implement project designs for new features or new browser-based systems applications, and debug existing code. - Ensure team members understand the business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions, organizational standards are maintained, and applications are delivered according to project timeliness. - Provide expert system knowledge, perform research, attend meetings, and review documents. - Provide post implementation support, including creation of systems enhancements, and instruction to production support team. - Research customer issues and determine appropriate resolutions. - Provide estimates as to the duration and cost of future projects. SYSTEM(S) THE CONTRACTOR WILL INTERACT WITH/BE RESPONSIBLE FOR: - Responsible for Internal Web application(s) running on iPlanet application servers. - Some interaction with CMS, Host, and Data Warehouse systems. - Development environment consists of RAD/Eclipse. Source control is PTC Integrity. PRIMARY WORKING RELATIONSHIP(S) INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE ORGANIZATION: - This person will primarily be working with the other eCommerce project leads/analysts, tester, and developers. There may also be interaction with internal customers. WORKING HOURS/CONDITIONS: - There is occasional weekend, early morning, or evening work to accommodate off hours software deployments. TEAM SIZE:24 JOB DESCRIPTION: Produce deliverables related to assigned projects, and assist in post-implementation support and system enhancements. Develop design and technical specifications. Design and develop browser-based systems. Provide post-implementation support, including creation of system enhancements. Ensure applications are delivered according to project timelines.
