Unfortunately, there is a sordid history behind this beautiful vehicle... It was stolen from its original owner, later found, and became the property of the Insurance company. Because it had been sitting prior to the insurance adjuster's evaluation of it, when asked what the mileage was, it was recorded as tmu which means "True Miles Unknown". When a vehicle is sitting, its battery is likely to go dead in most instances, and the adjuster did not "jump it off" to obtain the actual miles, thereby making it difficult to get financing by any banking institution in addition to its older age. So the likely owner of it will have to provide his/her own financing... Gunter has looked over this vehicle throughly and believes that it is the actual miles because of the condition of its body interiorly and exteriorly...This Coupe is Rare also because up through 98, MBZ classified the large coupe as an S series, and beginning in 99 they changed the classification to CL series, but it was the VERY LAST YEAR of the large coupe and no different than the 98. The CL classification continued into xxxx, although the Body Became Smaller than that of 99 and therefore no longer was considered a 140 chassis.
